Field is set for annual pro tennis event at Emkey Tennis Garden in Berks County

Professional tennis players are once again coming Berks County.

The field is set for the 7th annual Performance Volvo ProTennis Challenge at Emkey Tennis Garden in Wyomissing.

The tournament is Monday and Tuesday, Aug. 17-18, with a junior pro clinic on Sunday at Hampden Park in Reading.

This year’s tournament benefits the Olivet Boys and Girls Club of Reading and Berks County.

This year’s tournament has three players ranked in the top 350 of the ATP rankings, including No. 163 Billy Harris, who made his Davis Cup debut for Great Britain in 2024.

Also in the field is No. 353 D.K. Suresh, India Davis Cup player Ramkumar Ramanathan, American Andres Martin and ATP players Fleix Corwin and Lancaster native Nick Bybel.

The event will also feature a women’s exhibition on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m. prior to the men’s championship match.

The women’s professionals are Erika Andreeva (career high No. 67) and Lizette Cabrera (a top 300 ranked WTA professional).

Play begins Monday with round robin matches at 9:30 a.m. with the night session starting at 7:30 p.m.

Play continues Tuesday with an exhibition match with players to be announced, followed by the men’s singles championship at 6 p.m.

Totlal prize money is $10,000.

This is the seventh year of the event with past champions being Denis Kudla (2020), Makund Saisikumar (2021), Sumit Nagal (2022), Fillip Misolic (2024), and Jan Choinski (2025, 2026).

On Sunday at 12:30 p.m. at Hampden Park, the ATP pros will conduct a one-hour junior clinic for players ages 12-18.
