Holger Rune’s shirt steals the show in his latest practice video

Holger Rune is amping up his training intensity as he plans an imminent tennis return in Cincinnati.

Fans last saw Rune in the ATP 250 Stockholm Open last October when he ruptured his left Achilles tendon.

Rune has allowed fans to watch his recovery in real time on social media over the past 10 months. His latest video shows him at full speed and intensity. However, that’s not what fans immediately noticed. They noticed his top which looks like a sports bra.

How does the sports bra top contribute to training?

There has to be a good reason why male athletes wear these tops because Rune is not the only one who has worn one.

No one has ever explained the technology behind the top so fans will forever be distracted by its appearance.

Rune is former ATP World No. 4

It’s hard to believe that Rune is only 23 years old. It feels as though, even with the injury hiatus, he has been in competitive tennis much longer than the six years since he turned pro.

Rune was sometimes thought to be the third of this generation’s Big Three players who would compete for Grand Slams. Though Rune has yet to advance past the Grand Slam quarterfinals (at the French Open in 2022 and 2023 and Wimbledon 2023), he is a talented player.

If he keeps his mental and physical healthy intact, Rune could ascend into the Top 5 again. He is currently ranked 82nd with five career ATP titles. The biggest was the 2022 Rolex Paris Masters ATP 1000 clay court win over Novak Djokovic.
