Lilli Tagger is a rising tennis star to watch. After bursting onto the WTA scene after winning the 2025 French Open junior title, Tagger competes for her first career WTA title at the 2026 Prague Open on Sunday, July 26.
In the semifinal, Tagger defeated Barbora Krejcikova, who was riding an eight match winning streak. The match spanned 2 hours and 50 minutes and went the three set distance with first and third set tiebreakers.

Lilli Tagger faces Daria Snigur in the final
The Austrianâs opponent will be Daria Snigur, the 24-year-old Ukranian currently ranked World No. 54. They have never played each other.
Snigur is twenty spots ahead of Taggerâs World No. 74 making her the favorite to win the match. Regardless of the winner, we will have a maiden WTA champion as Snigur has never won one either.

Taggerâs Italian ties
Italian tennis legend and 2010 French Open champion Francesca Schiavone, 46, is Taggerâs coach.

Tagger also played doubles at this yearâs French Open with another Italian legend Sara Errani. Errani was the defending French Open doubles champion, but her partner, Jasmine Paolini, could not play this year due to an ongoing foot injury.
