Cruz Hewitt has advanced to the Wimbledon juniors final to be played on Sunday, July 12.
The 17-year-old Cruz has been a mainstay in professional tennis for years, often traveling with his dad, 2001 US Open and 2002 Wimbledon champion Lleyton Hewitt to Australian Davis Cup and other events.

Cruz also had a chance that many wish for, to hit with Roger Federer, when he was only a young boy.
Aussie fans will go out of their minds if Cruz wins Wimbledon juniors
Australian tennis players once dominated Wimbledon with the likes of Roy Emerson, Rod Laver, John Newcombe, and Ken Rosewall. That heyday concluded in the mid 1970s.
Since then, Pat Cash and Lleyton Hewitt are the only Wimbledon champions in the past forty years.

A big step forward
Cruz is taking a giant step forward with this Wimbledon juniors final, the first of his young career. Hewitt has never advanced past the second round in any Grand Slam juniors event including doubles and mixed doubles.
Hewitt is ranked outside the ATP Top 600 with a tall mountain to climb of talented players in front of him. Hopefully this Wimbledon juniors final is the beginning of the Cruz Hewitt ascent of the ATP rankings.
He is clear that he is not trying to compare or compete with his dadâs career. Cruz wants his own.
