Novak Djokovic faces top seed Jannik Sinner in the men’s semifinals at Wimbledon 2026 on Friday, hoping to keep alive his bid for a first Grand Slam title since 2023. Elsewhere, second seed Alexander Zverev hopes to avoid becoming the latest victim of wildcard contender Arthur Fery as his dream run at SW19 continues.

Three years on from his last major title, Djokovic will contest a Wimbledon semifinal for the eighth consecutive edition of the tournament (excluding the canceled 2020 tournament). Sinner leads their overall rivalry with six wins to the Serb’s five and has triumphed in five of their last six encounters, though ‘Nole’ got the better of the world No. 1 when they last faced off in the last four of the Australian Open earlier this year.
For Zverev and Fery, meanwhile, this will be an all-important maiden matchup between the pair as Fery looks to continue his string of surprises at his home major. The Wimbledon-raised talent entered this tournament ranked 114th in the world but looked every bit a top-10 talent when he breezed past No. 9 seed Flavio Cobolli in straight sets on Wednesday.
Zverev mimicked that feat en route to a dominant win over America’s last remaining hopes in the men’s singles, Taylor Fritz. However, Fery has the potential to be a stylistic nightmare for the big-serving German, who could become the latest giant slain by the diminutive Briton if he underestimates his lower-ranked foe.
