The first senior title of Wimbledon 2026 will be awarded on Thursday when the mixed doubles final will take place on Center Court. Former world No. 5 Jelena Ostapenko will feature in a Wimbledon final for the third time in her career as she and Marcelo Arevola take on Australian duo Storm Hunter and Marc Polmans.
Ostapenko, 29, previously competed in the mixed doubles decider at SW19 back in 2019, then the ladiesâ doubles final in 2025, but came up short on both occasions. Thursdayâs showdown will represent a first for partner Arevola, meanwhile, after beating the third-seeded team of Christian Harrison and Shuai Zhang last time out.
Hunter and Polmans are not seeded at SW19 this year but have nonetheless cut a scything path through the competition and dropped a single set en route to the final. Hunter previously contested the ladiesâ doubles final here in 2023 but, like Ostapenko last year, could not convert.
Both Arevalo and Hunter have each held the No. 1 ranking in their respective doubles fields in the past, but are forging further success on the doubles circuit. Each team has a former U.S. Open champion in its midst with Hunter (mixed) and Ostapenko (ladiesâ), but only one can add to that tally at the conclusion of Thursdayâs throwdown.
