👀Match of the day

Stefanos Tsistipas vs Novak Djokovic
Three years ago, this would have been a mouthwatering quarter or semi-final. But Tsitsipas’ loss of form and fall down the rankings means he is unseeded this year and doesn’t have any legitimate title aspirations. Could that liberate him against the 24-time grand slam champion, who is desperate to claim one last Wimbledon title.

🤕 What happened to Emma Raducanu and Jack Draper

The British No 1 withdrew from the tournament late on Sunday after announcing she had a stress fracture in her right shin.

Raducanu indicated her desire to play through the pain against Antonia Ruzic on Monday afternoon, but a scan confirmed her worst fears.

“I can’t believe I’m saying this,” Raducanu wrote in a post on Instagram, “but sadly I’ve had to withdraw from this year’s Wimbledon. I’ve done everything possible to try to get to the start line tomorrow but after a final scan tonight, the niggle I’ve been managing has developed into a stress fracture and I’ve been medically advised to stop pushing through.”

On Monday afternoon, Draper also pulled out of the tournament, citing a recurrence of the arm injury that has plagued him for the past year.

“I am devastated to share that I have had to withdraw from my first-round match because of a recurrence of my arm injury,” he said.

“There have been a lot of painful moments in the last 12 months but this one is definitely the absolute worst as there is no greater honour for a British player than playing at Wimbledon. I will continue to persevere through this. Thank you for the support.”

🎾 Which Britons are playing today

There are no British players in the singles draw playing on Wednesday but several are competing in the doubles.

Katie Swan, Arthur Frey and Jacob Fearnley play in the second round on Thursday.
