Emma Raducanu has fueled Wimbledon withdrawal speculations among fans after skipping her scheduled press conference and cutting short her second practice session on Saturday afternoon. The Brit was also seen with a strap on her lower right leg during her practice sessions.

The 2021 US Open winner has lately suffered a series of setbacks, particularly her Rome Open withdrawal in May. The Brit No. 1 skipped her Thursday and Friday practice sessions and appeared on Saturday for two practice matches, first at the Aorangi Park practice courts and then on Court Three with Russia’s Anna Kalinskaya. Raducanu, however, fell 0-4 to Kalinskaya and then gestured to her team to retire for the day.

Raducanu was then seen leaving the court with her team, carrying her accessories with her.

Just hours later, news broke that Raducanu had postponed her scheduled press conference to Sunday. This, coupled with her apparent leg injury, has further raised doubts among fans about whether or not she would be fit enough to compete at Wimbledon.

“Dear oh dear. Is she about to pull out,” one user commented.

“Look like Emma Raducanu is not going to be taking part at Wimbledon

.Looks like we will get confirmation tomorrow,” another added.

“Emma Raducanu has moved her press commitments to Sunday. Lots of ways to interpret this but overall feeling not good,” one fan tweeted.

Raducanu’s 2026 run has not lived up to her expectations, as she played only six matches from early February to the start of the Queen’s Club Tournament while battling a viral illness that put her out of action for two months.

Her practice session with Kalinskaya also raised concerns about her physical health as the Brit struggled through most of the session.

Raducanu has not made any official call yet about her Wimbledon status. Seeded at No. 30, Raducanu is scheduled to go up against World No. 60 Antonia Ruzic in the first round of SW19 on Monday.

Emma Raducanu’s Wimbledon History

Emma Raducanu debuted at Wimbledon back in 2021 and currently holds a 9-4 record on the English Lawn. In her 2021 wildcard debut, she made the Round of 16 but retired from playing Ajla Tomljanovic after reporting health issues.

In 2022, Raducanu reached the second round only to fall in two sets to Caroline Garcia. In 2023, she missed the entire grass court season, including Wimbledon, after reporting a wrist injury. She returned in 2024 only to fall again at the fourth round, this time to Lulu Sun in three sets.

In her 2025 Wimbledon endeavor, Raducanu faced Aryna Sabalenka for the second time in her career but lost to the Belarusian in straight sets in the third round.

Raducanu has, however, shown a reasonable amount of grit since her comeback, most notably playing three matches in 28 hours earlier this month at the Queen’s Club. She has also recently been reunited with her former coach, Andrew Richardson, who helped her reach the finals of the 2021 US Open.

It remains to be seen if she can overcome her current injuries and once again shine bright. The Brit will address the media on Sunday at the official press conference.
