The rising WTA star’s striking photoshoot at the event has drawn praise from her fellow players, including Coco Gauff and Alexandra Eala.

Following her second-round exit at the French Open, Lys is all set to kick off her grass-court season in Berlin. Ahead of her opening match, the 24-year-old welcomed Vogue Germany at the WTA 500 event, posing for a striking photoshoot around the tournament grounds and her hotel room.

“Tennis player @Eva.Lys is competing in the Berlin Tennis Open this week – @voguegermany is following her on-site: from the tennis court to a stop at the new lounge and all the way to her hotel room,” the caption read.

The photos quickly caught the attention of several WTA stars, with Gauff and Eala among the first to express their admiration for Lys in the comments. Marta Kostyuk and Carson Branstine also joined in, showering the German with compliments.

Alexandra Eala and Eva Lys may soon have to put their friendship aside, as they remain on course for a blockbuster quarterfinal clash at the Berlin Tennis Open. Featuring in the same half of the draw, the pair could meet in the last eight, with a potential semifinal against Coco Gauff awaiting the winner if the American reaches the final four.

Before that, Eala faces a tricky opening test against Donna Vekić, who is fresh off her triumph at the Queen’s Club Championships. If she emerges victorious, the Filipina will face No. 2 seed Elena Rybakina in the second round.

Meanwhile, Lys will need to defeat Magdalena Fręch in her opening match, followed by a second-round battle with Elina Svitolina or Anna Kalinskaya. As for Gauff, she awaits the winner of the match between Paula Badosa and Suzan Lamens in the Round of 16 after receiving a first-round bye.
