Former world No. 1 Caroline Wozniacki has returned to familiar territory at the French Open, albeit not as a player but as an analyst. The Dane recently turned heads with her stylish on-air outfits during coverage of the clay-court Major, catching the eye of close friend Serena Williams, tennis legend Chris Evert, and others in the tennis community.
Caroline Wozniacki Earns Praise From Serena Williams and Chris Evert at French Open
As the French Open got underway with exciting matches, Wozniacki joined former American stars John Isner and Sam Querrey to cover the action for TNT Sports. Amid her broadcasting duties, the 35-year-old made time to pose for pictures around the grounds, showing off her fashionable looks, including a chic blue-and-white striped dress and an elegant tan-and-white ensemble.
“First 2 days of @rolandgarros with @tntsports 🎾😎,” Wozniacki captioned her Instagram post.
Serena Williams was quick to gush over her close friend, prompting a heartwarming response from Wozniacki. Former player-turned-analyst Laura Robson also shared a message for the former world No. 1.
“Gorgeous,” Williams commented.
“miss you ❤️,” Wozniacki responded.
“Lemme know when the next photoshoot is,” Robson wrote.
With Chris Evert also joining the TNT Sports panel, she joked about needing to elevate her fashion game, though Wozniacki dismissed the notion by praising the 18-time Grand Slam champion’s style. Shelby Rogers also signaled her appreciation for the Dane’s looks.
“Now you’re putting pressure on all of us… I’m going to have to up my wardrobe, especially if I’m around you this week…,” Evert wrote.
“@chrissieevert nah nah!! You always look beautiful!!😍,” Wozniacki replied.
“👏✨,” Rogers posted.
Caroline Wozniacki Interviews Amanda Anisimova at Roland Garros
While carrying out her analyst duties at the French Open, Wozniacki interviewed Amanda Anisimova after her 6-3, 6-1 victory over Tiantsoa Rakotomanga Rajaonah in the first round. She questioned the American about her fitness after her lengthy layoff due to a wrist injury.
“How is your body feeling? How has the preparation been up to here? I know that you’ve been working hard but do you feel a 100 percent right now?” the Dane asked.
Anisimova shared a positive update on her condition ahead of her second-round clash against Julia Grabher.
“Yeah. I don’t think I would’ve stepped onto the court or played the tournament if I really wasn’t feeling at my best or at least did the progressions of practice matches with girls and just making sure that I’m really ready. Don’t really want to put myself at risk for the rest of the year, so I really made sure I did everything I could to be ready,” she said.
Caroline Wozniacki also showered praise on Gaël Monfils as he embarked on his final Roland Garros campaign, hailing him as a “showman” and a “special human being” while fondly reminiscing about their time playing mixed doubles together. Monfils suffered a 6-2, 6-3, 3-6, 2-6, 6-0 loss to Hugo Gaston in his opening match, bringing an end to his journey at his home Slam.
