Emma Navarro marked her comeback to the WTA Tour by triumphing at the Strasbourg Open. The Charleston native upset the top seed, Victoria Mboko, in a tight final and celebrated her triumph with her billionaire father and team.
Emma Navarro Thanks Her Team and Family For Support After Strasbourg Open Triumph
Navarro has endured a difficult year, with health struggles forcing her to spend months on the sidelines. She returned to the WTA Tour at the Italian Open earlier this month after a two-month layoff and arrived in Strasbourg seeking to build momentum ahead of the French Open.
But the American outperformed even her own expectations, claiming wins over Iva Jovic, Zhang Shuai, and Ann Li en route to the final. Navarro was the underdog in the final but managed to defeat Mboko 6-0, 5-7, 6-2 to clinch her first WTA Tour title on clay.
After the match, Navarro hugged her team and family members who traveled to Strasbourg to support her.
“I want to thank my team. They’ve been with me through thick and thin. It’s been a rocky year and a half. We put in a lot of really good work. Thank you guys for sticking by me and being incredibly dedicated. You make it fun and worth it. We’re always getting better,” she said during the post-match trophy ceremony.
Navarro also expressed gratitude to her family for supporting her during the Strasbourg Open final. Her father, Ben, has consistently supported her throughout her tennis journey. The billionaire businessman founded Beemok Capital and invested in the Charleston Open and Cincinnati Open.
“I want to thank my family. Few of my family members came out to watch the final today. They flew overnight to come watch me play. So thank you guys for being here,” she added.
This triumph will come as a big boost for Navarro, who has faced several challenges in recent months. The win also helped her maintain her 100% record in WTA Tour finals.

Navarro has now won 3 titles on the WTA Tour and will have her sights set on a repeat of her fourth-round run at the French Open in 2024.
After claiming the seventh win against a top-10 player on the WTA Tour, Navarro now turns her attention to the French Open. Unseeded at Roland Garros, she will begin her campaign against Janice Tjen and will face Jovic or Alexandra Eala if she manages to make it through to the second round.
