The Wake Forest Men’s Tennis Team is headed to the National Semifinal of the NCAA Tournament for the third straight season after beating Arizona 4-1.
The Deacs are having yet another stellar season after going 40-1 and winning the National Championship in 2025. The team finished the regular season 27-3 overall and 12-1 in the ACC, dropping matches to #6 Ohio State, #19 Baylor, and #25 Stanford. While they technically tripled the number of losses from the previous season, they were able to accomplish something the 2025 team could not—winning an ACC Championship. The Deacs defeated #2 Virginia 4-2 in March to grab the programs 4th ACC Championship.
As the #1 overall seed in the NCAA Tournament, the tennis team has rolled to yet another Final Four. On their way, the Deacs took down Navy 4-0, Old Dominion, 4-0, #16 UCF 4-1, and #8 Arizona 4-1. The win over Arizona gave Wake their 3rd straight trip to the semifinals and their 5th since 2018. To win a 2nd straight National Title, the Deacs will have to take down #4 Virginia for a 3rd time this season on Saturday, and then beat either #6 TCU (2025 rematch) or #2 Texas on Sunday.
Good luck to the Men’s Tennis team and Go Deacs!
