The ATP Tourâs current focus is on the Italian Open, another key event on the clay calendar as players prepare for Roland Garros.
Jannik Sinner, currently ranked number one in the world, is still in the draw at this Masters 1000 tournament, which has now reached its halfway point.
After Rome, attention will shift to events in Hamburg and Geneva before the clay-court season wraps up with the French Open.
Stuttgart field stacked with stars as Ben Shelton joins the lineup
Shelton adds his name to an already packed field in Stuttgart, where plenty of big names have committed to the early June event.
Heâll join fellow American Taylor Fritz, who heads into the tournament as defending champion.
Kyrgios, returning from a lengthy spell out of the game, will be looking to make his mark once again on grass. 2025 runner-up Alexander Zverev will also be in action alongside Kyrgios on the Stuttgart grass courts.
Elsewhere, several other notable players are confirmed for the event, including Alexander Bublik, Flavio Cobolli, Jiri Lehecka and Matteo Berrettini.
The American presence wonât stop with just Shelton and Fritz. Tommy Paul is another confirmed entrant alongside Learner Tien. Frances Tiafoe is set to appear too, joined by Sebastian Korda and Alex Michelsen.
Could Ben Shelton end the American Menâs Grand Slam title drought?
The ATP 250 event falls just after the French Open on the 2026 calendar, giving fans a fresh look at some of tennisâ rising stars.
American supporters will be eager for signs of progress, especially with their menâs Grand Slam drought stretching all the way back to the 2003 US Open.
That was when Andy Roddick lifted the trophy, and no American man has followed him since. Itâs a long wait that shows little sign of ending soon, especially with Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz leading the current generation.
This yearâs Roland Garros will miss Alcaraz due to injury, but rather than opening up the field for an American breakthrough, it only seems to clear a path for Sinner to add another major title.
Shelton may be Americaâs best hope moving forward, with young Learner Tien also showing promise behind him.
Shelton currently holds Americaâs highest ranking at No. 6 in the world, with Taylor Fritz close behind at No. 7 and Tommy Paul rounding out their top trio at No. 18.
