May 11âWILLMAR â Litchfield cruised to a boys tennis victory and sweep over Willmar on Monday.
All seven points came in straight sets in the non-conference win for the Dragons, who are 12-6.
Willmar, which was fresh off three consecutive wins from last week, saw its record fall to 4-14.
The closest match came at No. 3 doubles. Litchfield senior Isaac Elwell and eighth-grader Andy Wittrock won 6-1, 6-3 over Willmar junior Lucas Riemersma and sophomore Mason Munkholm.
There was one clean sweep in the seven matches. Litchfield seventh-grader Zeke Bruning secured a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 4 singles against Willmar sophomore Ethan Eckhoff.
Willmar begins section play on Thursday. The seeds have yet to be determined. Litchfield also begins section play on Thursday. Those pairings haven’t been announced as well.
