Tennisâ second Grand Slam of the calendar year is days away as the French Open at Roland Garros begins main draw play begins on May 24.
Among the players making French Open news on Monday, May 11 are Stan Wawrinka and Arthur Fils.

Wawrinka is in
2015 French Open champion, 41-year-old Stan Wawrinka has received a wildcard for Roland Garros.
Wawrinka announced that 2026 will be his final year on the ATP Tour so his wildcard is not a surprise.
Fans will gather to celebrate him in his final stint in Paris.

Fils is fine
French fans are breathing a collective sigh of relief as Arthur Fils announced on social media that after undergoing medical tests, everything is fine with his health.
Fils retired after four games from his Italian Open match over the weekend citing hip pain. Filsâs 2025 season was shortened by a back injury, and many were concerned the hip issue could be related.
On social media, Fils assured fans that he is back at work preparing for this yearâs Roland Garros.
TNT Sports is the American broadcaster for live French Open action. Qualifying begins on May 18, and the tournament runs through June 7.
