The WTA Tour has turned its attention to the clay-court swing, but Alexandra Eala is already looking ahead to grass.
For now, though, her focus remains on the clay. Sheâs in Rome for the Italian Open, tuning up for Roland Garros later this month.
This will be her second Grand Slam appearance of 2026 after falling in the opening round of the Australian Open earlier this year.
With Wimbledon coming soon after Paris and the US Open closing out the Grand Slam calendar, itâs a busy stretch.
Eala will want to find some form during this clay-court run. However, sheâs also already lined up to kick off her grass season with an early commitment.
Alexandra Eala set to feature at Birmingham Open
The Birmingham Openâs entry list has been released for early June, and Ealaâs name is included among the participants.
At the time of entry, the Filipina star was ranked 42nd in the world, making her second only to top seed Janice Tjen in the draw.
The WTA 125 event will also feature Alycia Parks, Tatjana Maria, Antonia Ruzic, Talia Gibson, and Beatriz Haddad Maia, along with several other notable players.
The tournament runs from 1-7 June and serves as an early lead-up to Wimbledon, which takes place from 29th June to 12th July.
How did Alexandra Eala fare on grass in 2025?
Unsurprisingly, Ealaâs appearance at the Birmingham Open this summer has already generated plenty of excitement.
The 20-year-old continues to draw significant attention everywhere she plays, both in person and from a distance.
Her rise to prominence was helped by a breakout season in 2025, highlighted by an impressive semifinal run at the Miami Open as a wildcard entry.
Eala also had a strong grass-court stretch that year, starting with the same event in Birmingham.
Though she lost her opening match there, she bounced back with a quarterfinal appearance at the Ilkley Open. After two qualifying wins in Nottingham, she fell in her first main draw match but saved her best for Eastbourne.
After coming through qualifying again, Eala reached the final of Eastbourne before losing to fellow rising talent Maya Joint. Despite that impressive run, she faced Barbora Krejcikova in the first round of Wimbledon and was knocked out early.
Eala finished her grass campaign with ten wins and five losses and will be looking to improve on that record this summer.
