Apr. 23âALEXANDRIA â Alexandria handed the Bemidji High School boys tennis team its second loss of the spring on Thursday.
The Lumberajcks fell to the Cardinals 5-2 in a road dual. Alexandria swept all four singles matches in straight sets, bumping BHS to 11-2 this season.
Peter Mathews and Ethan Frank pulled out a thrilling win at No. 1 doubles in three sets. The duo won the first set 6-1 before dropping the second set 6-4. Mathews and Frank won the tiebreaker 10-8 to snag a team point for the Jacks.
Chase Fairchild and Paul Gifford also picked up a win at No. 2 doubles by set scores of 6-3 and 6-1.
