He enters the tournament looking to win a fifth consecutive Masters 1000 title. A win in Madrid would follow his recent triumphs in Paris, Indian Wells, Miami and Monte Carlo.

If Sinner manages to lift the trophy in Spain, he will become the first player in history to win five consecutive Masters 1000 titles – something not even Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal or Roger Federer achieved during their careers.

Sinner has decided that chasing immediate glory is more important than waiting for Rome. And given how well he’s playing right now, there’s no reason why he can’t pull it off again.

Sinner has taken full advantage of Alcaraz’s withdrawal and is more than ready to make a statement in Madrid, where he’s looking to become the first player ever to win five straight Masters 1000 titles.

The only two players that looked like they could stop him – Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic – have both pulled out of Madrid. That leaves a wide-open draw for Sinner, whose current form makes him almost untouchable right now.

Zverev has shown he can be competitive, but even he has lost eight straight matches against Sinner. And beyond that, there aren’t many others who look capable of slowing him down.

This might just be one of those moments where everything lines up perfectly for Sinner. There’s no reason to bet against him adding another title to his growing collection this week.
