Carlos Alcaraz made his intentions for 2026 clear from the very start.
By the end of January, he had already delivered on that promise, capturing the Australian Open title and completing the Career Grand Slam at just 22 years old.
It was a landmark moment in Melbourne, and since then, the Spaniard has continued to push boundaries and rack up milestones.
Even though heâs currently sidelined with an injury, thereâs still plenty of confidence that heâll be back in time to defend his Roland Garros title and stay on track for another historic goal: the Calendar Grand Slam.
The ability is there, but right now it looks like thereâs just one major obstacle in his way.
Toni Nadal has now weighed in on Alcarazâs pursuit of a feat that only two players have achieved in menâs tennis history.

While talking to Mundo Deportivo, Toni Nadal â who famously guided Rafael Nadal through most of his career â said he believes Carlos Alcaraz has what it takes to pull off the feat.
He didnât just hand it to Alcaraz without context, though. Toni made it clear he thinks the current lack of serious competition is part of why this chance even exists.
He went on: âItâs possible, though not easy. I would give him around a 75% chance at Roland Garros, and about 60% at Wimbledon and the US Open.
âHe is only 22 and look at what he has already achieved. If he stays on this path, itâs certainly possible [that he betters Novak Djokovicâs haul of 24 Grand Slams].â
Nadal then finished with: âOf course, a lot can happen over time, but if he continues playing at this level, he has a strong chance.
