Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner are on pace to break several records in tennis, with Novak Djokovicâs Grand Slam record of 24 possibly within reach.
The two have controlled the ATP Tour for the past couple of seasons, having shared all four majors between them across 2024 and 2025.
Alcaraz won his seventh major title at this yearâs Australian Open, also becoming the youngest player to complete a Career Grand Slam at just 22 years old.
Sinner, meanwhile, has collected four Grand Slam titles by the age of 24 and needs only a Roland Garros title to complete his own Career Grand Slam.
Though Sinner trails Alcaraz by three majors and is older, former world number 18 Benoit Paire believes heâll end up with more Slams when itâs all said and done.
Benoit Paire shares his thoughts on Carlos Alcaraz and Jannik Sinner
Paire told Tennis 365, âI would say Sinner will win the most majors.
âI think he is very solid on hard courts and a little more focused to win the game. He wants to win everything, so thatâs the difference between him and Alcaraz.
âMaybe Iâm wrong, I donât know, but thatâs what I think. In the future, it will be a big battle between those two.
âI am also hoping that there will be more players coming through like Joao Fonseca, but for the moment, I think it is between those two.â
Fonseca is still young at just 19 years old, but has already shown some promise by reaching the Miami Open quarter-finals this year before losing to Hubert Hurkacz.
Sinner even praised Fonseca following their match in Miami. Fonseca later played Alcaraz in Indian Wells and managed to take a set off of him. He lost in three sets but impressed many with his performance nonetheless.
Carlos Alcarazâs potential to overtake tennis greats by 2026
Alcarazâs win at the Australian Open brought him level with both John McEnroe and Mats Wilander in terms of major titles.
But with his career still in full swing, thereâs every chance he could add a few more before the year is out, pushing him further up the all-time list.
A victory at Roland Garros this year would give Alcaraz his eighth Grand Slam, matching the totals of Andre Agassi, Ivan Lendl, Jimmy Connors, Fred Perry and Ken Rosewall.
One more after that would move him past all five, leaving him just one short of Bill Tildenâs nine-title mark. No one has pulled off a Calendar Grand Slam since Rod Laver in 1969, but doing so would tie Alcaraz with Tilden on nine majors.
So far, only seven players have reached double digits in menâs singles: Laver, Bjorn Borg, Roy Emerson, Pete Sampras, Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Djokovic.
