Emma Raducanu reveals surprising off-court ambition

Tennis fans hope to see more of 23-year-old British player Emma Raducanu on the courts this spring and summer as we near her favorite part of the season, the grass court swing.

In the meantime, we learn more about the 2021 US Open champion as she continues her work as a newly minted UNIQLO brand ambassador. Raducanu left Nike earlier this year. She became the first female tennis player to go to UNIQLO, the brand known for luring Roger Federer from Nike in the latter stages of his career.

Raducanu, currently ranked 29th in the world, recently filmed a rapid fire question segment posted on UNIQLO social media, and her surprising off-court ambition is now in the public airwaves.

Raducanu’s off-court ambition is working on Wall Street. This is a surprising revelation that does not jive with her laid back personality. She also shared an ideal day off is spent with coffee and a book.

Professional athletes are innately competitive people so that quality would serve her well performing the fast paced frenzied work on Wall Street.

Will Raducanu ever win another Grand Slam?

This is a persistent question for Raducanu.

Injuries have plagued her, and the game has become faster and more intense.

She won in the period after Serena Williams and before Aryna Sabalenka’s dominance.

Regardless of whether she wins another, she will always be known as a Grand Slam champion. She remains the only woman ever to win a Grand Slam as a qualifier.

Raducanu pulled out of last month’s Miami Open with an illness and has not played since. She is on the player list for next week’s WTA 1000-level Mutua Madrid Open.
