Jannik Sinner capped off a strong stretch in the United States by clinching the Miami Open title on Sunday.
Sinner beat Jiri Lehecka 6-4, 6-4 to become just the eighth player ever to pull off the âSunshine Doubleâ.
The Italian also finds himself in rare company alongside Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic, having now won three consecutive Masters 1000 titles without dropping a single set.
Every time you look up, it seems Sinnerâs broken another record. And heâs just done it again in Florida.
Sinner tops Andre Agassiâs hard-court Masters wins record
Andre Agassi is widely recognised as one of the best all-surface players the sport has seen.
The American, who won eight Grand Slam titles during his career, is one of just six men in the Open Era to complete a career Grand Slam by winning all four major tournaments.
Agassi [pictured below] had particular success on hard courts, where he claimed six of his eight Slams. Still, thereâs an argument to be made that Sinner has already surpassed him on this surface.
Sinner reached 75 hard-court Masters wins faster than anyone before him. He did it in 92 matches â one fewer than Agassi took.
The next chance for Sinner to add another hard-court title wonât come until August when the Canadian Open returns to the calendar. The tournament will run from August 2nd to August 13th this year.
Sinner has good memories from Canada â he lifted his first Masters 1000 trophy there in 2023 after beating Alex de Minaur in the final. He followed that up with a quarter-final appearance in 2024 but chose not to compete in 2025.
Andre Agassiâs first appearance at the Miami Open
Agassi first played at the Miami Open in 1987, where he was matched up against future French Open winner Thomas Muster in the opening round.
It turned into a tight five-setter, with Muster edging out Agassi 6-7, 5-7, 7-5, 6-0, 4-6. Muster eventually made it to the third round before falling to Ivan Lendl.
The following year, Agassi picked up his first wins in Miami by beating Jeremy Bates and Tom Nijssen before losing to Aaron Krickstein.
Agassi would go on to claim six titles in Miami during his career, with his final win coming in 2003.
