On the road at Columbus East, the Pirates swept the doubles action and didnât give up a game at No. 1 singles en route to a 3-2 victory against the Olympians.
At No. 1 singles, Greensburgâs Mason McNulty cruised to a 6-0, 6-0 win against Trevor Ernst.
Greensburgâs No. 1 doubles team of Reece Chapman and Will Weber knocked off Michael Reed and Micah Wettschunck 7-6 (7-5), 6-2.
Greensburgâs Max Buening and Wade Schutte rolled at No. 2 doubles, defeating Carson Hartsook and Cooper Harry 6-1, 6-0.
At No. 2 singles, Greensburgâs Brody Sanders was defeated 6-3, 7-5. At No. 3 singles, Greensburgâs Jaxson Phillips dropped a 3-setter to Landon Reddleman 4-6, 6-0, 6-3.
In junior varsity action, Henry Schwering won 6-0. The doubles team of Logan Fisse and Luke Schwering won 6-0 and the doubles team of Jonah Wheat and Simeon Wheat won 6-2.
Rushville
Rushville dropped a 5-0 decision to a solid Connersville tennis team Wednesday.
At No. 1 singles, Rushvilleâs Clayton Chase was defeated by Brandt Lykins 6-0, 6-1. At No. 2 singles, Rushvillesâ Kaceik Lunsford fell 6-0, 6-1 to Jay McMullen. Rushvilleâs Brady Martz was knocked off by Abel Parsley 6-4, 6-1.
Rushvilleâs No. 1 doubles team of Joel Downey and Max Reynolds lost to Maddox Rees and Parker Thumb 6-0, 6-1. At No. 2 doubles, Rushvilleâs Jakob Sloan and Josh Campbell lost to Logan Young and Evan Miller 6-2, 6-1.
In junior varsity action, Cory Schwendenman lost his first match 6-4 and bounced back to win his second match 6-0. Trent Smith was defeated 6-0 in his first match and won his second match 6-0. Dade Hiland fell 6-1. Beau McCallister and Logan Gordon lost 6-1 in the first match and return to win 6-2 in the second match.
Rushville is back in action Monday, hosting Shelbyville.
